Agree with one semantic issue: “DevOps Is More Complicated”
Operating them is more complicated. DevOps is not operations or infrastructure. When the word is used that way it causes confusion.

Also, handling data isn’t an issue. You don’t need a database per service. You need an isolated schema for stateful services. That’s a good idea in a monolith as well. Domains should not entangle at the data layer in monoliths either.
