Platform engineering is a subset of DevOps. I have about 3 decades of experiences as a developer and significant experience working on Walmart’s delivery platform. The goal of the platform is to enable CD and DevOps. I have zero respect for developers who just want to code and not face the consequences by also supporting what they build. They are, at best, code monkeys. You built it, fix it when it breaks or find another job where you can throw shit over the wall and get away with it.
