When we transitioned from feature to domain alignment we started with a goal of disentangling the legacy system. We created a domain diagram for the new system architecture and build teams to create those sub-domains out of the legacy system. It takes time. The benefits appear quickly though, if you couple it with “why can’t we deliver today’s work to production today?”
